About The Role We are seeking a skilled Java API Developer to design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services. The ideal candidate will have strong Java development experience, especially with Spring Boot, and a solid understanding of API design, performance, and security. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to build scalable backend solutions that power modern applications, ensuring clean code and high performance. Key Responsibilities • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver reliable APIs. • Develop automated CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or Git Lab CI. • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices. • Write unit tests and ensure high code coverage. • Configure services and routes for API access, including access control and rate limiting. • Manage API proxies and policies through the API management platform. • Create and maintain API documentation. • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to standards. • Analyze and improve system performance and availability. • Work with scrum teams and product managers to deliver solutions. • Use Git for version control and collaboration. • Stay updated with Java development trends to recommend solutions. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience. • 3+ years of Java development experience, focusing on backend and API development. • Proficiency with Spring Boot and related frameworks. • Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles. • Experience with relational databases (Postgre SQL, MySQL, Oracle) and SQL. • Solid understanding of OOP principles and design patterns. • Proficiency in Git and version control workflows. • Experience with JUnit and Mockito for testing. • Knowledge of security practices like OAuth2 and JWT. Preferred Skills • Microservices architecture familiarity. • Experience with Docker and containerization. • Knowledge of messaging systems like Kafka or Rabbit MQ. • Experience with Agile methodologies. • Understanding of performance tuning and scalability. • Familiarity with AWS services. • Knowledge of other programming languages such as Python, Ruby, C++, JavaScript.
