Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer (Microsoft 365 / Azure) Primary Location: Chicago, IL, 2 Days Hybrid Position Type: Contract Overview TalentFish is casting a line for a Senior Systems Engineer (Microsoft 365 / Azure). This is a contract role in Chicago, IL (2 days hybrid). This position exists to support and enhance cloud-based systems by managing and optimizing a Microsoft 365 and Azure environment. The Senior Systems Engineer will work closely with IT leadership to ensure the reliability, performance, and security of all cloud infrastructure while contributing to key projects and migrations. What You Bring to the Role (Ideal Experience) • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent experience. • 5+ years of experience in system administration with a focus on Microsoft 365 and Azure environments. • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft 365 Certified, Azure Administrator Associate) strongly preferred. • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive for Business, and others. • Hands-on expertise in Azure services such as Active Directory, Virtual Machines, Storage, and Networking. • Strong understanding and implementation experience with cloud security best practices. • Skilled in PowerShell scripting for automation and configuration. • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities. • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. What You'll Do (Skills Used in this Position) • Manage and support the Microsoft 365 environment including Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Power BI, Visio, and more. • Conduct audits and updates of M365 applications based on security recommendations. • Monitor system performance and resolve issues to ensure system reliability and uptime. • Implement and enforce cloud security protocols to prevent unauthorized access and cyber threats. • Lead and execute cloud migration initiatives for M365 and Azure platforms. • Collaborate with internal teams to provide technical expertise on cloud-related projects. • Stay current on evolving cloud technologies and make recommendations for continuous improvement. • Train and support end-users in the adoption and best practices of M365 and Azure tools. • Administer and maintain Azure infrastructure including identity management, virtual machines, and networking. Compensation Information The expected salary range for this position is $45-$60 per hour depending on experience and qualifications.
