Power BI Developer – Hybrid (Harrisburg, PA)Location: Harrisburg, PAEngagement: 10-month contract, extensions possiblePay: $50–68/hr DOE⚠️ Important RequirementsMust be a current Pennsylvania resident (hybrid – 1 day/month onsite in Dauphin County).Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship available).About the RoleThe Pennsylvania Department of Health is seeking a Power BI Developer to support its Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) modernization project. This role is responsible for creating dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions that drive data-informed public health policies and decisions.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain Power BI dashboards, datasets, and advanced DAX measures.Perform data modeling, profiling, cleansing, and validation.Translate business requirements into optimized data visualizations and reporting solutions.Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure accuracy and compliance.Required Skills5+ years of experience building Power BI dashboards and reports.Expertise with DAX, SQL Server, and SSRS.Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts (facts, dimensions, star schema).Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and Azure DevOps.Strong ability to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences.Nice-to-Have SkillsExperience with SAS or other statistical/analytical tools.Previous work with healthcare or public health data systems.Advanced Excel for analytics and reporting.
