Our client, a rapidly growing telecommunications company, is seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Network Security Architect to join their IT security team. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to work from anywhere in the US. The Lead Network Security Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust and secure network infrastructure that protects the company's assets and customer data from evolving cyber threats. This role requires a deep understanding of network protocols, security principles, and a proven track record of building and managing enterprise-level security solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and implement comprehensive network security strategies and architectures for our global network infrastructure. Lead the evaluation, selection, and deployment of network security technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and security information and event management (SIEM) solutions. Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance and mitigate risks. Oversee the implementation of network segmentation, access control, and encryption solutions. Proactively identify and assess potential security vulnerabilities and threats through regular security audits, penetration testing, and threat intelligence analysis. Develop and maintain incident response plans, and lead the response to security incidents as needed. Collaborate with IT operations, engineering, and application teams to ensure security is integrated into all network and system designs. Provide expert guidance and mentorship to junior security engineers and analysts. Stay current with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies, and recommend appropriate countermeasures. Manage relationships with third-party security vendors and service providers. Ensure network infrastructure adheres to relevant industry regulations and compliance standards. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 10 years of experience in network security, with at least 5 years in a senior architect or lead role. Proven experience in designing and implementing complex, enterprise-scale network security solutions. Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching, and network architectures. Expertise in various security technologies such as next-generation firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAFs, SIEM, endpoint security, and DLP solutions. Experience with cloud security principles and technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP). Strong knowledge of encryption technologies, authentication protocols, and secure coding practices. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and incident response skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCIE Security, or GIAC are highly desirable. Experience in the telecommunications industry is a significant plus.
