Direct message the job poster from Serigor Inc Job Title: System Administrator Microsoft 365 & Infrastructure Location: Columbia, MD (Onsite) Duration: Full Time Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated System Administrator with strong expertise in Microsoft 365 administration , Windows Server management , and network security . This is a hands-on, proactive role responsible for maintaining the availability, performance, and security of our IT infrastructure while driving continuous improvement in operations. The ideal candidate will have proven experience managing Microsoft 365 environments , configuring and maintaining Windows-based servers , securing networks, and providing exceptional end-user support. Key Responsibilities Microsoft 365 Administration (40%) Manage and maintain the Microsoft 365 (M365) environment, including user provisioning, license assignment, security configurations, and access control. Provide Tier 2/3 support for Microsoft 365 applications : Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, and related services. Administer Exchange Online : mailbox creation, migration, configuration, distribution lists, spam filtering, and retention policies. Implement and enforce Microsoft 365 security best practices including Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) , Conditional Access Policies , and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) . Create and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate administrative tasks and improve efficiency. Core System & Infrastructure Administration (50%) Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server , Windows 10/11 , and networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls). Manage Active Directory (AD) user accounts, security groups, and access permissions. Support Azure Active Directory (Azure AD) integrations in hybrid environments. Configure and manage firewalls , VPNs , DNS , DHCP , and TCP/IP networking . Monitor and maintain virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V) as applicable. Perform system monitoring, patch management, backup operations, and disaster recovery testing. Document all system configurations, network diagrams, processes, and standard operating procedures. Security & Compliance (10%) Monitor and respond to alerts from Managed Detection and Response (MDR) platforms such as Arctic Wolf . Assist with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools for log review and incident response. Apply security updates, firmware upgrades, and operating system patches in compliance with IT security policies. Conduct vulnerability assessments and coordinate remediation efforts. Qualifications & Skills Required: 23+ years of experience in Microsoft 365 administration and Windows Server management . Strong working knowledge of Exchange Online , Teams , SharePoint , OneDrive , and Active Directory . Experience with network configuration , firewalls , VPNs , DNS , DHCP , and TCP/IP . Familiarity with security monitoring tools and MDR services such as Arctic Wolf. Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration tasks. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to resolve complex technical issues independently. Preferred: Microsoft certifications: MS-900 , MS-102 , AZ-104 , or equivalent hands-on expertise. Experience with SIEM platforms and managed security services . Knowledge of ITIL best practices for incident, problem, and change management. Exposure to cloud identity management and hybrid Azure AD environments. Soft Skills Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. Clear and professional communication skills with both technical and non-technical users. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
