Job Overview We are seeking a Software Developer in Test (SDET) specializing in data analytics and automation to join our client's data engineering team. This role involves developing automated testing frameworks for data pipelines, validating large-scale data systems, and ensuring the quality and reliability of analytical data solutions. Key Responsibilities • Design and develop automated test scripts and frameworks for data pipelines (ETL/ELT processes) • Validate data quality, accuracy, and integrity across structured and unstructured datasets • Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and Product Owners to define test strategies • Perform data profiling, transformation validation, and end-to-end system testing • Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation • Develop automated regression test suites to detect data anomalies and performance regressions • Troubleshoot defects, work with developers to resolve issues, and improve test coverage • Monitor data quality metrics and help implement real-time alerting or quality dashboards Required Skills & Qualifications • 3 7 years of experience in SDET, Data QA, or Data Engineering QA roles • Strong coding experience in Python, SQL, and automation frameworks like PyTest, Robot Framework, etc. • Experience with big data platforms such as Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Databricks, or Redshift • Hands-on experience validating data pipelines, data lakes, and analytics systems • Familiarity with tools like Apache Spark, Airflow, Informatica, or similar ETL/ELT tools • Proficient with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) • Experience in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) • Strong analytical skills with a good understanding of data modeling and data governance concepts Preferred Qualifications • Experience with data observability tools (Monte Carlo, Great Expectations, etc.) • Exposure to data visualization tools for test reporting (Tableau, Power BI, etc.) • Knowledge of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus • ISTQB or other relevant certifications in testing or data analytics Soft Skills • Excellent communication skills verbal and written • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams Organized and proactive approach to testing and documentation
