A DAY IN THE LIFE: The Principal Cybersecurity Architect leads the design and governance of enterprise-wide application security architecture, ensuring cybersecurity principles are embedded throughout the product lifecycle. This role establishes security policies, standards, and reference architectures while partnering with engineering, cloud, and cybersecurity teams to address risks and integrate security into data platforms and product design. The architect provides guidance on secure design patterns, threat modeling, and CI/CD security integration, while also driving innovation through evaluation of emerging technologies and AI use cases. Serving as a thought leader and mentor, this role sets architectural direction and champions secure software practices across the organization. Recommends and implements security controls with expertise in systems security and cloud platforms. Collaborates with application development teams to create and maintain a Secure Product Development Life-cycle process to ensure that cybersecurity requirements/controls can be embedded within the product development process. Partners with software architects to perform secure software design/architecture reviews. Identifies potential risks, threats, and vulnerabilities present in the environment, develops, and provides guidance for appropriate security controls to mitigate. Coordinates with development teams to conduct product cyber security risk assessment and develop mitigation plans. Works with development and QA teams to establish and maintain unit testing tools and QA automation tools. Leads cybersecurity initiatives for use of AI (Agentic, MCP, 3rd Party). Deploys mitigations that address cybersecurity risk early and prior to exploitation. Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements. WHEN & WHERE YOU'LL WORK: Remote: This position is fully remote and open to candidates within the United States. Equipment for the role will be provided and training will occur virtually. Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity and privacy. Extensive experience in monitoring cybersecurity information sources for identification and detection of cybersecurity vulnerabilities and risk. In-depth understanding of unit testing tools and QA automation tools. Ability to conduct application cybersecurity risk assessment and develop mitigation plans. In-depth understanding of Azure cloud security configurations. Extensive experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, etc.). Experience with medical product safety risk and the relationship with product cyber security risk. S. in computer science or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience. Equivalent education includes technical school training and certifications in networks and servers. 10 years of experience working as a security/cybersecurity engineer within CI/CD pipeline. Experience working with Git repositories, software build tools, and software deployment tools. Net, Python, Node.JS, or similar languages. Experience with unit testing and automated QA testing. Experience identifying and troubleshooting risks with products through entire lifecycle. Experience automating Microsoft Azure. Experience working with DevOps methodologies.
