POSITION SUMMARY: The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for planning, implementing, and maintaining mission-critical enterprise systems. This role provides technical expertise in system administration for complex operating systems, recommends system configurations and redesigns, evaluates system requirements, and develops specifications. The IT Systems Administrator also identifies solutions and provides project leadership to ensure high levels of service to the department’s customers. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: • Administer day-to-day operations of host computers, including monitoring system performance, configuration, maintenance, and repair. Maintain records of system downtime and equipment inventory. Apply revisions to system firmware and software and coordinate support with vendors. • Troubleshoot system issues, leading problem-solving efforts with vendors and other support personnel as needed. • Establish, maintain, and manage user accounts. Install, modify, and maintain server systems and utility software. Provide server support for additional applications. • Collaborate with IT leadership and project managers to establish guidelines for installation and management of operating systems, disk arrays, switches, backups, and other system components. • Ensure high availability and optimal performance of mission-critical systems. • Develop procedures to maintain system security and protect against unauthorized use, environmental risks, and user errors. • Create and maintain documentation for system backup and restoration procedures. • Perform helpdesk functions as needed. • Manage host system hardware, software, and related equipment such as air-conditioning units, UPS systems, and fire protection systems. • Stay current with developments in systems administration technology and recommend ways to enhance Duravant’s IT infrastructure. POSITION REQUIREMENTS: • Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline. • Three years’ work experience in complex systems administration, software and support. • Knowledge of: Windows Server 2012 R2 - 2019, Office 356, Meraki Switches and Firewalls, backup appliances, Server hardware (Nutanix/HP/Lenovo), Anti-virus platforms, automation tasks. • Knowledge of remote sharing applications like Kaseya VSA experience is a plus • Active Directory & GPO experience • Microsoft SQL is a plus Duravant is committed to a culture that promotes long-term career satisfaction and provides an opportunity for personal and professional growth.
