Description The Senior Software Engineer, DevOps/SRE within our Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) Technology division will be instrumental in transforming Capital One’s foundational cloud infrastructure. This role involves solving complex business problems in a collaborative and iterative environment, focusing on observability, connectivity, resilience, and availability. As a DevOps Engineer, you will work with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions while mentoring fellow engineers and engaging with technology communities. Skills • Proficient in programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Ruby, and Go • Experience with container orchestration services (Docker and Kubernetes) • Familiar with configuration management tools (Ansible and Terraform) • Knowledge of cloud native technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) • Unix or Linux system administration skills • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills Responsibilities • Collaborate with Agile teams to deliver full-stack development solutions • Stay on top of tech trends and mentor fellow engineers • Work with product managers to provide robust cloud-based solutions • Utilize various AWS tools and services effectively Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field • At least 3 years of experience in DevOps Engineering • At least 2 years of experience with Cloud Native technologies • At least 2 years of Unix or Linux system administration experience Education Requirements • Bachelor’s degree Education Requirements Credential Category • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field Experience Requirements • Minimum of 3 years in DevOps Engineering (Internship experience does not apply) • 2+ years of experience with AWS, Splunk, New Relic, CI/CD Pipelines • 2+ years of experience with Terraform or Ansible • 2+ years of experience with container orchestration services • 2+ years of experience working with Agile Development Practices Why work in Dover, DE Dover, DE, is known for its rich history and vibrant community.
