Position Summary The Director of BI and Data Management will be responsible for establishing, evolving, and executing a comprehensive data strategy that ensures data quality, accessibility, security, and strategic value across the organization. The Director will lead a team of BI professionals and data stewards, fostering a data-centric culture and driving operational excellence .Key Skills & Responsibilities • 1. Strategy Development & Execution: • Develop and implement a robust enterprise-wide BI and Data Management strategy aligned with organizational goals and objectives. • Create and maintain a clear roadmap for BI capabilities, analytics projects, and data management initiatives. • Champion the adoption of data literacy and data stewardship across all departments. • Team Leadership & Development: • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing team of data analysts, BI developers, data engineers, and data governance specialists. • Foster a collaborative and data-driven team culture that encourages innovation and continuous learning. • Set clear team objectives, performance metrics, and provide regular feedback and professional development opportunities. • Data Governance & Quality: • Establish and enforce enterprise data governance policies, standards, processes, and workflows to ensure data accuracy, completeness, consistency, and security. • Oversee the implementation of Master Data Management (MDM) solutions and data quality frameworks. • Conduct regular data audits and implement best practices for data lifecycle management. • Business Intelligence & Analytics: • Oversee the design, development, and delivery of BI solutions, including dashboards, reports, and analytical models, to provide actionable insights to stakeholders. • Collaborate with business units to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop metrics that measure business performance. • Leverage advanced analytics techniques, including predictive and prescriptive modeling, to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities. • Stakeholder Management & Communication: • Serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, IT, and data teams, translating business needs into technical requirements and vice versa. • Effectively communicate complex data insights, strategies, and recommendations to executive leadership and non-technical audiences. • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to understand their data needs and priorities. • Technology & Infrastructure: • Evaluate, select, and implement appropriate BI and data management tools and technologies. • Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of the data infrastructure and BI platforms. • Stay abreast of emerging trends and best practices in BI, data analytics, and data management. • Relationship management and Scalability: • Work with a cross functional team of Presidents, VPs and directors to pull together the reporting requirements from a single entity as well as an enterprise level • Proven track record in building, scaling reporting mechanisms to a best in class capability • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, or a related quantitative field. Master's degree preferred. • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in Business Intelligence, Data Management, and Data Analytics, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or management role. • Proven track record of developing and implementing successful enterprise-level data strategies and data governance frameworks. • Extensive experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, Looker) and data warehousing concepts. • Strong understanding of data management principles, including data architecture, data modeling, ETL processes, data quality, and MDM. • Proficiency in SQL and experience with various database technologies. Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus. • Demonstrated experience leading and mentoring cross-functional teams of data professionals. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. • Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization. • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies and IT best practices. • Experience in insurance and petro-chemical is a plus.
