Oak Street Health, a rapidly growing provider of primary care for Medicare adults in underserved communities, is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our care and risk modeling team. Our innovative care model prioritizes patient value over service volume, ensuring we provide quality health solutions to our patients. In this role, you will lead a team of data scientists and analysts focused on enhancing, expanding, and maintaining our data modeling initiatives. Your leadership will guide the development of highly utilized models, providing a chance to make a significant impact on our data science capabilities throughout our care model. Key Responsibilities: • Direct the design, development, and deployment of new functionalities in the care and risk modeling team. • Act as a collaborative partner with business stakeholders to identify meaningful applications of statistical analysis and machine learning. • Work closely with clinical and population health partners to customize models and tools that meet program requirements. • Wrangle and analyze large datasets, ensuring high repeatability in processes. • Collaborate with development teams to shape the platform vision and evolve the product roadmap. • Mentor and develop junior data scientists within the team. • Exhibit strong communication skills and a positive, solution-focused attitude. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Economics, Physics, Engineering, or a related field. • 7 or more years of experience in data science or analytics. • 1 year of experience in a mentoring or leadership role. • Proficient in SQL and Python within a cloud environment (e.g., GCP, Azure, AWS). • Experience in solving analytics problems in the healthcare domain using clinical data. • Proven ability to lead analytics projects from concept to delivery through effective coordination with diverse stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: • Master's degree in a related field. • Experience with the lifecycle of model production, including assessment, deployment, monitoring, and retraining. • Expertise in SQL-based relational databases. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. The typical pay range for this role is: $106,605.00 - $284,280.00. Actual salary offers will be based on various factors including experience, education, and geography.
