Overview: GovCIO is seeking an experienced and proactive Power BI Developer and Fabric Administrator to manage and support our enterprise-wide Power BI environment. This role focuses on Power BI Service administration, Fabric platform oversight, user support, and end-to-end report lifecycle management. We are looking for someone with technical depth in Power BI tools and infrastructure, combined with effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills to collaborate across the Center of Excellence (COE), business units, and IT support. This is a fully remote position for candidates located within the United States. Responsibilities: • Oversee workspace management, deployment pipelines, permissions, and performance monitoring as a Power BI Fabric Administrator. • Establish and develop a Power BI Center of Excellence (COE) to enforce standards, best practices, and governance for enterprise Power BI usage. • Conduct instructor-led training sessions on Power BI to enhance user skills. • Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for Power BI-related issues, including report access, refresh failures, dataset issues, and workspace configuration. • Create Self-Help resources such as FAQs, templates, training materials, and troubleshooting documentation to empower end users. • Manage Power BI licensing and desktop software distribution, collaborating with IT assets and licensing teams. • Support integration with existing data sources and assist in the design and onboarding of new data sources, ensuring data quality and secure access. • Handle incoming Power BI reporting and workspace requests through a managed queue or mailbox, prioritizing them effectively for timely response and resolution. • Design, publish, and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards aligned with business requirements for optimal usability and performance. • Create and maintain robust technical documentation, including data dictionaries, architecture diagrams, workspace catalogs, and refresh schedules. • Engage in proactive system health checks and performance tuning of Power BI Service, datasets, and gateway configurations. Qualifications: Required Skills and Experience: • Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience. • Strong experience with Power BI Service Administration, Fabric workspace management, and deployment pipelines. • Familiarity with Power BI governance, tenant settings, and organizational policies. • Experience supporting and escalating issues through Tier 1 and Tier 2 support models. • Knowledge of Power BI licensing models (Free, Pro, Premium, PPU) and integration with Microsoft 365 administration tools. Preferred Skills and Experience: • Solid understanding of data connectivity, gateway setup, refresh scheduling, and source control for data sources. Clearance Requirements: Ability to obtain and maintain a suitability/public trust clearance.
