Description:Hybrid Cloud Systems Engineer, Azure, SQL Server, Windows, Active Directory for a contract position. This position can be hybrid onsite in the Los Angeles or San Francisco area. What you will be doing:Support planning, design, implementation, operation, and optimization of hybrid cloud infrastructure – Azure, SQL Server, WindowsEvaluate environment and recommend architectural improvementsImplement solutions – IaaS, PaaSEmbed Financial Operations best practicesSupport and Database administration – SQL Server including performing ongoing database tuning, indexing, and optimizationReview, manage, and optimize SQL Server environments on-prem and AzureBackups and restoresMigrate legacy databases to Azure SQL Managed InstancesServer and database integrationMonitoring using Azure Monitor, Log AnalyticsManage legacy infrastructure while transitioning to cloud-native solutionsOptimize existing cloud infrastructure - IaaS, PaaSLead FinOps initiatives, implement best practicesWorks with Defender for Cloud, SentinelSystem administration of Windows Servers, Azure Virtual Desktop – AVD with Nerdio, and Azure VMware Solution - AVS What you will need:5-10+ years of experience as a Systems Engineer, Systems Administrator, Cloud Systems EngineerDatabase Administration of SQL Server 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022Strong experience in performance tuning, failover clusters, Always On availability groups, and SQL Agent jobsExperience managing SQL in on-prem + Azure SQL MI and cloud native Azure SQL DatabasesExperience managing Azure VMware Solution (AVS)Experience managing Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD)Experience in designing and managing Azure infrastructureExperience with Azure cost management toolsWindows Server administration including Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, RDPBasic Linux administration
