Location: Providence, RI Salary: $25.00 USD Hourly - $30.00 USD Hourly Description: BI Developer / Analyst Department: Information Technology Services Position Type: Contract (Possibility of Extension or Conversion) Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite) Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative BI Developer / Analyst with expertise in Power BI and the Microsoft Power Platform to join our IT Services team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and administering interactive dashboards and reports that transform complex data into actionable insights. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in business intelligence strategy, chatbot development, and AI integration, with a passion for enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization. Key Responsibilities Development & Design • Design and build Power BI dashboards and reports tailored to business needs. • Embed Power BI content into Power Apps for seamless user experiences. • Integrate AI models for tasks such as text recognition and process automation. • Develop and maintain data models and BI architecture to support scalable, high-performance solutions. Administration & Optimization • Manage Power BI workspaces, capacities, deployments, and user permissions. • Optimize datasets for performance, usability, and scalability. • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to performance, environment stability, and operability. • Administer and support Power Platform tools including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power Virtual Agents. • Implement governance policies and ensure compliance across BI platforms. Strategy & Collaboration • Contribute to the development and execution of the organization's analytics roadmap. • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders and executives, offering strategic guidance on BI solutions. • Recommend alternative tools and techniques to address complex business requirements. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and support tactical and strategic goals. • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in Power BI, Power Platform, and data analytics. Qualifications Required • 2-5 years of experience in BI development and Power BI administration. • Hands-on experience with: • Power BI report design, deployment, and performance tuning • Power Platform administration (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents) • AI model integration for automation and recognition tasks • Chatbot development and self-service tools • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. • Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities. • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. • Proven ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments. Preferred • Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and platform management.
