Lead BI / Data Engineer – ADF, PowerBI , SQL Onsite | Full-Time | Irving, TX Expert Technical Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to architect, design, and develop multi-platform applications and data solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities — mentoring developers, leading complex data initiatives, and driving the delivery of high-quality, scalable systems. The ideal candidate is hands-on with Azure Data Factory, SQL, and API integrations, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is 6-month contract-to-hire position - onsite, in-office 5x/ wk in Irving near DFW airport. Key Responsibilities • Architect, design, code, and test enterprise-grade software and data solutions across multiple platforms. • Develop ETL pipelines integrating internal and external systems into the data warehouse using Azure Data Factory , including managed file transfers and REST API data ingestion. • Implement data warehousing strategies to ensure efficient, real-time data processing and updates. • Write complex SQL queries across Oracle, SQL Server, and Snowflake to support operational and financial reporting. • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and visualizations for ongoing analytics and business insights. • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to development and data engineering teams. • Research and apply emerging technologies to enhance scalability, automation, and performance. Required Skills & Experience • ETL & Data Warehousing: 5–10 years of hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory (preferred) and/or Microsoft SSIS , building robust data pipelines and dimensional models. • Database Expertise: • 5–10 years with SQL Server and Oracle , including complex query writing using subqueries, CTEs , and window functions. • Proficient in query optimization , parameterized queries , JSON querying , and tuning stored procedures. • NoSQL Technologies: Experience with Azure Table Storage , Cosmos DB , MongoDB , and Kusto Query Language (KQL) . • API Integration: 5–10 years integrating RESTful APIs , and exposure to SOAP and webhooks using .NET , Python , or JavaScript . • Visualization: Minimum 5 years creating interactive dashboards using Power BI , including DAX queries and model optimization. • Azure Tools (Preferred): Experience with Azure Portal , Function Apps , Synapse Analytics , and/or Databricks . • Strong documentation, estimation, and project management abilities — able to scope, plan, and deliver high-complexity initiatives.
