Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Network Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in network infrastructure and security, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our systems. This role involves managing and supporting our network environment, implementing security measures, and optimising performance across various platforms. Responsibilities • Administer and maintain network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and VPN configurations. • Implement and manage firewalls (Cisco ASA) and ensure robust network security protocols are in place. • Provide network support for troubleshooting issues related to routing protocols (BGP, OSPF) and network protocols (TCP/IP). • Oversee the deployment of Cisco routers and manage IPsec for secure communications. • Collaborate with teams to integrate cloud services such as AWS and Azure into existing infrastructures. • Manage Active Directory for user authentication and access control. • Conduct regular network monitoring using tools like SolarWinds, PRTG, or Splunk to ensure high availability. • Perform system administration tasks on various operating systems including Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu, Windows, macOS, and Linux distributions (openSUSE, Solaris). • Develop scripts using Bash or PowerShell for automation of routine tasks. • Ensure compliance with ITIL standards in all networking operations. • Facilitate remote access software solutions for secure connectivity. • Participate in the design and implementation of load balancing solutions to enhance network performance. Requirements • Proven experience in network engineering or administration with a strong understanding of computer networking principles. • Familiarity with telecommunication systems and VoIP technologies. • Knowledge of encryption methods and security protocols (SSL, HTTPS). • Experience with SAN technologies and network installation processes. • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Java for automation tasks is advantageous. • Understanding of APIs for integrating various services within the network architecture. • Experience with virtualisation technologies like VMware or Citrix is preferred. • Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues effectively. • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
