As a Systems Adminstrative Consultant you’ll serve as the trusted technical advisor to a diverse range of small and mid-sized businesses, taking ownership of their infrastructure and delivering expert-level service across systems, networks, and cloud platforms. What You’ll Do • Serve as the primary technical lead for multiple client environments, maintaining servers, networks, desktops, security tools, and cloud platforms. • Build trusted relationships with clients and act as their go-to advisor for IT strategy, planning, and issue resolution. • Architect and implement infrastructure upgrades, network deployments, and cloud migrations. • Lead and manage projects—coordinating timelines, resources, vendors, and deliverables. • Run status meetings with clients and internal teams to track milestones and maintain transparency. • Solve a wide range of issues—from everyday support tickets to critical outages and high-level architecture decisions. • Roll up your sleeves for hands-on work including hardware installs, firewalls, backups, patching, and performance tuning. What You Bring • 3 - 5 years of experience in IT consulting, MSP support, or system/network administration • Working knowledge of business IT environments, including: • Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS/DHCP • Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Intune • Virtualization tools (VMware, Hyper-V), Remote Desktop Services • Firewalls and networking (Fortinet, Palo Alto, routing, VPNs) • Backup, security, and disaster recovery solutions • Microsoft Azure or AWS cloud platforms • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Physically able to handle computer hardware as needed • Based in Austin or nearby, with reliable transportation for client visit What Makes a Great Sigma Consultant • Technologically curious and always learning • Adaptable—can shift between client sites, project work, and emergency triage • A confident communicator who can explain complex topics to non-technical audiences • Calm under pressure and professional with executive stakeholders • Comfortable working independently while staying aligned with the broader teams About Sigma Founded in 2000, Sigma Information Group has built a reputation for delivering top-tier IT services to businesses in Austin and beyond.
