The Microsoft Fabric team is building the next-generation data platform to power AI-driven insights at scale. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Fabric Platform team, you will play a key role in enabling workloads to integrate seamlessly with the Fabric ecosystem through a scalable Resource Manager, robust SDKs, and fully automated infrastructure provisioning. You’ll work on foundational platform components that connect directly with OneLake, Azure, and Microsoft’s expanding AI stack. We’re looking to hire Senior Software Engineers who excel at building high-scale, developer-friendly platforms, with strong systems-level expertise and hands-on development experience. You should be passionate about crafting reusable, multi-tenant infrastructure that powers rich experiences across data, analytics, and machine learning workloads. As a result, our customers are better served. Design and implement features for a scalable Resource Manager to support the onboarding and lifecycle management of workload-specific resources in Microsoft Fabric. Automate deployment workflows that scale across regions, sovereign clouds (e.g., government cloud), and compliance boundaries. Collaborate with teams across AI, OneLake, and data engineering to ensure infrastructure supports high-performance analytics and machine learning workloads. Drive improvements in monitoring, telemetry, and alerting to ensure platform health, reliability, and operational transparency. Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and operational readiness reviews to uphold quality and align with Microsoft’s Secure Development Lifecycle (SDL). Author and maintain internal documentation, onboarding guides, and best practices to support platform scalability and ease of adoption. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python 2 Years experience with Azure services, particularly in areas like ARM, storage, compute, identity, and policy enforcement. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Familiarity with OneLake, Synapse, or other Microsoft Fabric components. Experience building or operating platforms that support multi-tenant, multi-region workloads.
