Job Description - AI Solutions Architect Location - Schaumburg, IL No Sponsorship at this time Type - Hybrid 2-3 days work from office About the Role You will own the end-to-end design, delivery, and governance of cloud-native web and AI solutions on Azure. Partnering with both business and technical stakeholders, you’ll architect scalable microservices back-ends, modern front-end applications, and intelligent features powered by Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs). As a hands-on leader, you’ll mentor engineering teams, define best practices, and ensure our platforms meet performance, security, and costefficiency goals. Key Responsibilities Solution & AI Architecture a. Define high-level blueprints combining Azure PaaS/IaaS (AKS, App Services, Functions) with Azure AI services (OpenAI Service, Cognitive Services, ML Studio). b. Design and productionize LLM pipelines for training, fine-tuning, and inference— implementing prompt-engineering guardrails, Vector search (Azure Cognitive Search), and MLOps practices. Micro services & Data Design a. Lead microservices architecture using .NET Core or Node.js, Event-Driven patterns (Service Bus, Event Grid), and container orchestration (AKS with Helm). b. Architect data models in Azure Cosmos DB (partitioning, consistency, throughput) alongside relational stores (Azure SQL) and integrate via API Management or GraphQL gateways. Front-End Strategy a. Select and evangelize modern SPA frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue); enforce component driven design, state management, and performance optimizations. b. Closely collaborate with UX/UI teams to translate designs into responsive, PWA-ready applications. DevOps & Automation a. Build CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions; provision infrastructure via IaC (Terraform, Bicep, ARM). b. Integrate automated testing and deployment gates for both code and models (MLflow or Azure ML pipelines). Governance, Security & Cost Management a. Define cloud governance using Azure Policy, Blueprints, and RBAC; enforce secure identity (Azure AD, Managed Identities) and data protection (Key Vault, encryption). b. Monitor resource consumption and recommend right-sizing, reserved capacity, and costoptimization strategies. Stakeholder Engagement & Pre-Sales a. Translate business needs into technical proposals, RFP responses, and live demos for Azure and AI initiatives. b. Communicate architecture decisions and trade-offs to C-suite and technical teams. Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing c. Coach architects and engineers on best practices (Design Patterns, DDD, SOLID, responsible AI frameworks). d. Maintain Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), runbooks, and an internal knowledge portal. Required Qualifications i. Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, AI/ML, or related field. ii. 12+ years in solution architecture or senior technical leadership roles, with 4+ years on Azure. iii Certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305) and Azure AI Engineer Associate (AI-102) or equivalent. iv. Hands-on experience with: • Azure compute/storage: AKS, App Services, Functions, Cosmos DB, SQL Database • Azure AI: OpenAI Service, Cognitive Services, Azure ML Studio • Microservices frameworks: ASP.NET Core or Node.js; API Management/GraphQL • Front-end frameworks: React, Angular, or Vue with SPA/PWA architectures • DevOps/MLOps: Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions, Terraform/Bicep, MLflow v. Proficiency in C#, Python (PyTorch/TensorFlow), or Java. vii. Strong communicator with proven ability to engage business and technical audiences.
