The Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office is seeking a Windows Server Administrator to manage and maintain their network infrastructure. This full-time position requires expertise in Microsoft Server Operating Systems and HPE Servers.
Network Administrator 3 (3168-31) Deadline to Apply: Open until Filled Work Location: Hamilton County Prosecutor 230 East Ninth Street Cincinnati, OH 45202 Work Hours: 80 Hours Bi-Weekly Starting Salary: $ 85,000 - $105,000 Requirements (Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification): · Industry certification - Microsoft MCSE and at least one more of the following: Cisco CCNA or CCNP, Network+, HP ASE, MCSE with Messaging · Completion of undergraduate or associate degree with major in Computer Science or related curriculum · Expertise in Windows PC based operating systems including planning, upgrades, installations, and troubleshooting systems for all department users · Three (3) years of comprehensive experience with Microsoft Server Operating Systems planning, installation, and management · Three (3) years of comprehensive experience with HPE Servers including Hardware Compatibility with Windows OS and Application Systems planning, installation/upgrade, and management · Knowledge of Cisco IOS for managing Cisco switches. · Knowledge of Tape Backup (Netbackup) and Restore systems · Working knowledge of Current Windows Desktop OS (Window 10 Professional) · Extensive Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook · Two (2) years of design and troubleshooting TCPIP and DNS Networks In a Microsoft AD environment · Two (2) years Exchange/Outlook server management and troubleshooting · in-depth expertise with Active Directory and Group Policy in a Domain environment · On call 24 hours/7 days a week, must be able to maintain a flexible schedule and willing to work off hours when needed · Ability to lift up to 50 lbs while moving pc or other network equipment Other Desired Skills · Having worked with any of the following applications: Netbackup, Symantec Endpoint protection, Desktop Central, Zoho Assist, Linux, Office 365, Uniface programs. · IT Project Management Experience Job Duties (Summary): · Create and maintain comprehensive documentation and checklists as it relates to server, PC, and network topology, equipment, and other configuration(s). · Provide Infrastructure services in all areas needed: storage networking, Operating System, Email messaging, network security, directory services, internet services, system backup and restore, network monitoring, application installation and configuration for pc’s, servers, printers, and other network devices · Identify, diagnose, and resolve network, server, printer, and PC problems in a timely fashion · Monitor local network, server, and PC security using Current Anti-virus and Anti-spam software · Interface with third-party vendors as a liaison between client and vendor, including internet certificates, and other software and hardware support agreements · Contact hardware and software vendors to troubleshoot and resolve problems · Interface with other support departments within the County or City umbrella · Configure, test, and maintain LAN equipment and services, including switches and Remote access services. · Provide recommendations for Windows based PC and Laptop systems · Dispose of any retired computer related equipment using the County Auction system · Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and/server room maintenance as needed. · Provide advice as needed with client purchases of hardware and software. · Analyze, Create, request, and present technical specifications and requirements for purchasing of new servers and networking equipment via quote procedure · Complete all expected training and ensure that certifications are maintained as necessary. · Communicate escalated issues to the department head as necessary. · Good professional Communication skill via email, phone, text, and in person · Understanding the relationship between switches, hubs, patch panels, and connecting nodes to a network. · Understanding of DNS services. · Assure that mission critical apps and security software receive timely updates · Shows solid understanding of and ability to configure TCP/IP and troubleshoot Internet connectivity. · Achieves and maintains multiple Industry recognized certifications certifications at a high skill level.
