he Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Operating Unit (OU) is a newly formed team with a bold mission: to consolidate, simplify, and accelerate Microsoft’s presence across the DIB landscape. The DIB OU will directly manage and accelerate strategic and major DIB accounts across MCAPS Americas, while also enabling growth across other OUs and SME&C. We are currently looking for a Cloud & AI Solution Engineer in Innovative Data Platform to join our team. As a Data Platform Solution Engineer (SE), you will play a pivotal role in helping enterprises unlock the full potential of Microsoft’s cloud AI, database and analytics stack across every stage of deployment. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering leaders and platform teams to accelerate the data platform through hands-on engagements like Proof of Concepts, hackathons, and architecture workshops. You’ll guide customers through secure, scalable solution design, influence technical decisions, and accelerate database and analytics migration into their deployment workflows. Qualifications Required/Minimum Qualifications • Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 2+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR 3+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience OR equivalent experience. • 1 + years experience designing and implementing solutions leveraging Data and Analytics Platform services including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL/SQL Server, Cosmos DB, Azure PostgreSQL, Azure Synapse and Power BI OR Google Cloud Data Platform, AWS Data Platform, Oracle Autonomous Database/Warehouse, Snowflake Platform • Working knowledge and application of Zero Trust Principles Other Requirements Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This position requires verification of U.S citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local United States government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport. Citizenship & Citizenship Verification: This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under U.S. export control regulations, potentially under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations or the Export Administration Regulations.  As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information. To meet this legal requirement, citizenship will be verified via a valid passport. Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications (PQs) • The ability to obtain and maintain a United States Security Clearance. • 4+ years technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or technology delivery, or related experience OR equivalent experience • 2+ years experience with cloud and hybrid, or on premises infrastructure, architecture designs, migrations, industry standards, and/or technology management Cloud and AI Solution Engineer IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $85,100 - $169,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $112,000 - $185,300 per year. Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation. Cloud and AI Solution Engineer IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year. Microsoft will accept applications and processes offers for these roles on an ongoing basis.
