Work you will do: The Cloud Engineer is responsible for implementation, management, cloud security and automation of the Azure Government and AWS GovCloud for Deloitte GPS. The Cloud Engineer will work within Deloitte Cloud Framework to implement security controls and works with multiple Deloitte internal engagement teams to gather technology requirements, define cloud architecture, implement policies, standards, security, and establish best practices and delivers technical expertise in cloud management to meet the engagement team expectations. Provides suggestions and recommendations for new technology solutions; Automates reoccurring tasks using CloudFormation and other scripting tools. Collaborates with Senior Leadership and multiple departments delivering on major national Firm Information Technologies initiatives. Responsibilities • Ensure that all cloud solutions follow internally defined security and compliance controls. • Define standards and best practices by conducting POCs for new cloud technologies. • Create, implement, and assist in the development of scripts to automate everyday operations. • Assist in system migrations and system upgrades to create and deploy new cloud environments. • Serves as a subject matter expert on major IT environment upgrades, enhancements, new functionality, capacities, performance, cost effectiveness, and business integrations. • Assist in the deployment and provide support for Infrastructure related applications hosted in Azure for Gov't and AWS GovCloud. This could include but not limited to, Defender, Azure Arc, etc • Analyzes and resolves technology and end user incidents during standard business hours or on-call rotations; Monitors issue resolutions and collaborates with the engagement teams and engineers when necessary to resolve and apply fixes. identify root cause, document problems, and implement preventive measures. • Assists with special projects and initiatives such as the ITS CTO annual project; Plans and executes on major milestones. • Provides input and recommendations on new potential technology solutions based on research and analysis. • Designs and implements infrastructure solutions to meet business and technical objectives. • Administers and manages Linux servers, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. • Implements and oversees Linux administration tasks including user management, permissions, and system updates. • Maintains standard operations procedure documentation. • Ensures compliance with Software Testing Life-Cycle standard operating procedures and policies. • Performs other job-related duties as assigned. • Participates in the on-call rotation providing 24x7 support. Qualifications • 8+ years of experience in Information Technology focusing on Infrastructure environments and/or 6 years with an advanced degree • 2+ years working hands on with Azure including but not limited to designing and deploying Azure services such as Azure Arc, Defender for Servers, Azure policy, Entra, and troubleshooting conditional access policies Knowledge of Azure networking and routing technologies and traditional network, firewalls and load balancers. • Experience in supporting enterprise applications in Azure • 2+ years of Linux system administration • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent educational and/or equivalent relevant professional experience • Must be eligible to obtain federal security clearance • Ability to travel 10%, on average, based on the work you do • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
