This role will focus specifically on identity repointing, workspace integrity, and data source continuity in the Power BI environment as we split a shared Microsoft 365 tenant into two. This is not a dashboard development or BI analyst role—this is a backend-focused opportunity for someone with hands-on experience maintaining Power BI Service in enterprise environments where identity and access governance is the focus. Responsibilities Audit and remap Power BI workspace roles and ownership during UPN/domain migration Ensure Seamless Continuity Of • Dataset refresh schedules • Gateway configurations • OAuth-based and service principal–based data source connections Coordinate With Identity Teams To • Migrate or repoint Azure AD/Entra ID users and groups • Validate SCIM/SAML/SSO mappings as needed for Power BI access Reassign Ownership Of • Reports and dashboards • App workspaces • Datasets and pipelines (if in use) Prevent And Remediate Broken • Scheduled refreshes • Row-level security (RLS) policies tied to old user identities • Embedded or shared content Required Experience • 3+ years administering Power BI Service in enterprise environments • Strong understanding of dataset refresh behavior, gateway configuration, and OAuth token security • Deep familiarity with Azure AD/Entra ID identity structure and how it ties to Power BI access • Experience with domain migrations, UPN changes, or identity provider transitions • Ability to navigate Power BI Admin Portal, audit logs, and tenant-level settings • Experience working with IT/Security teams to validate group and role mapping • Strong troubleshooting skills in access loss, broken reports, and dataset failures Preferred Experience • Familiarity with PowerShell scripts for bulk repointing users or managing API-driven workspace configuration • Comfort working alongside Okta or hybrid Entra/Okta SSO configurations • Prior involvement in tenant splits, M&A work, or regulated data environments
