Our client is seeking a highly experienced and visionary Lead Architect specializing in Cloud Infrastructure to join our esteemed team in Omaha, Nebraska, US . This pivotal role demands a strategic thinker with deep expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing large-scale cloud environments. You will be responsible for defining the architectural vision, setting technical standards, and guiding engineering teams in building robust, scalable, and secure cloud solutions. This position requires a hands-on approach and the ability to translate complex business requirements into innovative architectural designs. Responsibilities: Define and maintain the overall cloud infrastructure architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices. Lead the design and implementation of highly available, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions on platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. Develop architectural blueprints, standards, and patterns for cloud services, including compute, storage, networking, databases, and security. Collaborate with engineering, operations, and security teams to ensure the successful deployment and management of cloud infrastructure. Evaluate and select appropriate cloud services, technologies, and tools to meet project requirements and optimize cost-efficiency. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to cloud engineers and architects. Conduct architectural reviews and provide guidance on design decisions, ensuring adherence to established standards. Develop and implement strategies for disaster recovery, business continuity, and security within the cloud environment. Stay abreast of emerging cloud technologies and trends, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement. Communicate complex technical concepts and architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, with a significant focus on cloud architecture and design (minimum 5 years in lead architect roles). Proven expertise in designing and implementing cloud solutions on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP). Deep understanding of cloud-native technologies, microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and serverless computing. Extensive experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. Strong knowledge of networking principles, security best practices, and compliance frameworks in cloud environments. Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to think strategically and solve complex architectural challenges. Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are highly preferred.
