Position: Microsoft Office 365 Engineer lead The Microsoft O365 lead is responsible for leading the product management, system administration and operation of the Microsoft Office 365 (O365) Cloud services. The services supported include email, e-archiving (currently using Exchange Online Archiving and ProofPoint), and other Office 365 services such as, but not limited to, MS Teams and Exchange Online, and will provide support services including e-discovery and integration with external business applications (legacy Lotus Notes application to support e-discovery requests).Responsibilities: Provide leadership and support for the operations management of O365 services and Lotus Notes applications, and delivery of core messaging functions. Provide operational support such as incident resolution, incident escalation, critical situation disposition and closure. Provide service management such as process life cycle management, process improvement, continuous service improvement, VIP support process, and trend analysis using existing low-code/no-code tools available within the organization. Provide messaging services such as support of e-discovery, and integration with business applications, articulate services, and maintenance of the service artifacts. Provide technical support such as messaging architecture and design, operational analysis, execute approach to integration, and operational issues. Evaluate security requirements, currently implementing security enhancements using Microsoft Defender for Office, Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting, and Conformance (DMARC) monitoring using Valimail, and routinely auditing system security compliance, search and purge data as requested by the SOC in Microsoft Purview. Provide in-place records retention for email and Microsoft Teams chats in accordance with the records management requirements. Manage the annual review and update of the Project Management Plan for existing and new O365 services supported. Create, review, and update all work instructions and standard operation procedures (SOP) for O365 Productivity. Provide Roadmap planning based on new products released by O365 vendor. Perform product evaluations as required by the 365 Productivity management group. Provide support services including e-discovery and integration with external business applications (legacy Lotus Notes application to support e-discovery requests). Requirements Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant systems administration and engineering experience to include at least 5 years with Microsoft Office 365 (O365) Cloud service. Services supported include email, e-archiving (currently using Exchange Online Archiving and ProofPoint), MS Teams and Exchange Online. Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Business Systems, Management Information Systems, IT Management, or related IT field (Engineering, Math, and Science degrees are acceptable substitutes). US Citizenship and ability to obtain a federal government public trust clearance required. Scripting skills (e.g., Power Shell) to automate tasks, manage services, and generate reports. knowledge of access control principles (e.g., RBAC), managing permissions, and enforcing access rights. Experience monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting infrastructure and supporting server migrations. Understanding of IT security policies, compliance frameworks, and governance standards for account management, with the ability to enforce and document policies effectively. Experience with diagnosing and resolving complex issues with a focus on root cause analysis and continuous improvement. Experience creating, updating, and maintaining technical documentation, including SOPs, policies, and security standards. Good written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with technical teams, non-technical stakeholders, and leadership, translating technical concepts into actionable insights.
