The System Administrator role involves providing IT systems administration in a mixed environment, managing virtualized systems, and collaborating with cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements. Responsibilities: • Provide IT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and RedHat Enterprise Linux environment. • Working as a team member in a fast-paced technological environment. Use troubleshooting techniques to resolve technical problems of basic to moderate scope and complexity to include the integration of hardware and operating systems. • Participate in team collaboration. • Manage virtualized environments. • Experience with Windows Server internals or Linux fundamentals to include DNS, DHCP, AD, and server replication methods. • Experience with hardware RAID, hardware and software encryption and server management tools. • Perform data backup and restore, using industry best practice. • Install and configure software applications requested by end users. • Work with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements. • Must be able to obtain Department of Defense Directive (DoDD) 8140 / 8570 Certification requirements (CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent certification) within 6 months of start date. • Systems are operational 24x7 and occasionally require work effort beyond standard work hours. • Travel required as business needs dictate to other US Domestic locations, up to 10% per year. Qualifications: Required: • Typically requires a University degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree in a related field. • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. • Experience with some of, but not limited to, the following technologies: Windows or Linux administration, backup, and recovery enterprise suite. Preferred: • Experience Deploying Windows workstations and migrating end-user data. • Experience with cloning techniques. • Experience with operating system concepts and implementations. • Microsoft Windows Active Directory Services administration and support (e.g. user and computer objects administration, Group Policy). • Experience with network services related to Microsoft Windows environment (e.g. DC, DNS, DHCP, etc.). • Experience with supporting desktop / workstation hardware. • Experience with an IT incident/service request system.
