Job Title: Data Analyst / Engineer (SQL & Python) Location: Sunnyvale, CA (Onsite/Hybrid About the Role Walmart is seeking a highly skilled SQL-focused Data Analyst/Engineer with complementary Python expertise. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on SQL development experience (80%) along with Python scripting and automation skills (20%) to support enterprise-scale data solutions, reporting, and analytics. Key Responsibilities • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions for large-scale datasets. • Perform data analysis, reporting, and troubleshooting to support business and technical teams. • Use Python to automate repetitive data tasks, build lightweight scripts, and perform data validation. • Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and engineers to ensure high-quality data delivery. • Ensure data integrity, performance tuning, and optimization of SQL-based solutions. • Contribute to data documentation, best practices, and process improvements. Required Skills & Qualifications • 5+ years of professional experience in SQL development (queries, procedures, optimization, performance tuning). • Strong background in relational databases (e.g., Teradata, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL). • At least 1–3 years of Python programming for scripting, automation, or data-related tasks. • Experience working with large datasets, ETL processes, and data pipelines. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience in retail, e-commerce, or financial services domain. • Exposure to cloud data platforms (Azure, GCP, AWS) and modern data tools. • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
