Our client is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Precision Agriculture Specialist to drive innovation in modern farming. This is a fully remote position, allowing you to contribute to agricultural advancements from anywhere in the United States. You will be at the forefront of integrating advanced technologies, data analytics, and IoT solutions to optimize crop production, resource management, and farm profitability. The core of this role involves collecting, processing, and analyzing vast amounts of agricultural data from sensors, drones, satellites, and farm equipment to provide actionable insights. You will develop and implement data-driven strategies for variable rate application of fertilizers and pesticides, irrigation scheduling, yield forecasting, and soil health monitoring. Collaboration with farmers, agronomists, and technology partners will be crucial. Your expertise will help clients make informed decisions that enhance efficiency, reduce environmental impact, and maximize returns. Responsibilities include: Designing and implementing precision agriculture programs leveraging IoT, sensors, and remote sensing technologies. Collecting, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets related to soil conditions, weather patterns, crop health, and equipment performance. Developing predictive models for yield forecasting, disease risk assessment, and optimal planting/harvesting times. Creating data visualization dashboards and reports to present complex findings clearly to clients and stakeholders. Providing remote consultation and support to farmers on the adoption and utilization of precision agriculture tools and techniques. Evaluating and recommending new technologies and software solutions for farm management and data analysis. Ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with relevant agricultural data standards. Collaborating with software developers and engineers to refine and improve precision agriculture platforms. Troubleshooting technical issues related to data collection and analysis tools. Contributing to the development of training materials for end-users. Qualifications: Master's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Data Science, Agronomy, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field. Minimum of 4 years of experience in precision agriculture, agricultural data analysis, or a similar role. Demonstrated expertise in data analytics, statistical modeling, and machine learning techniques applied to agriculture. Proficiency with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Experience with IoT platforms and sensor networks in an agricultural context. Strong understanding of crop physiology, soil science, and general agronomic principles. Excellent remote communication, collaboration, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting. Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R for data analysis is highly desirable. Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
