We seek an experienced Application Administrator with specialized expertise in Microsoft Azure cloud platform to support VA's Financial Management System (FMS), Human Capital Management (HCM), or Secretary of VA / Congressional / Legal Affairs (SCLA). This role is critical to maintaining and administering cloud-based applications hosted in Azure environments. You will ensure cloud applications run smoothly, securely, and cost-effectively while leveraging Azure's native services and capabilities. In this role, you'll manage complex Azure application environments, implement cloud-native solutions, and coordinate with development teams to support modern cloud application deployments and optimizations that serve VA personnel and Veterans. Key Responsibilities • Azure Application Management: Administer and maintain cloud-based applications using Azure App Services, Azure Virtual Machines, and containerized solutions. • Azure Resource Management: Manage Azure resources, including compute, storage, networking, and database services, to support application requirements. • Cloud-Native Services: Implement and manage Azure services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, Azure Key Vault, and Azure Monitor. • Scaling and Optimization: Configure auto-scaling, load balancing, and performance optimization for Azure-hosted applications. • Azure Security Implementation: Implement Azure security controls, including Azure Active Directory integration, RBAC, and Azure Security Center recommendations. • Cost Management: Monitor and optimize Azure resource costs through right-sizing, reserved instances, and efficient resource utilization. • DevOps Integration: Support Azure DevOps pipelines and automated deployment processes for continuous integration and delivery. Required Experience and Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related discipline • 4+ years of experience in cloud application administration with emphasis on Microsoft Azure • Strong expertise in Azure App Services and Azure Virtual Machine management • Proficiency in Azure Active Directory and identity management • Experience with Azure SQL Database and Azure storage solutions • Knowledge of Azure networking including VNets, load balancers, and application gateways • Understanding of Azure security principles and compliance frameworks • Experience with Azure CLI, PowerShell, and Azure Resource Manager templates Preferred Experience and Certifications • Previous experience supporting VA systems or federal government Azure implementations • Microsoft Azure certifications (Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect) • Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and containerized applications • Knowledge of human resources and supply chain cloud applications • Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline management • Understanding of federal cloud security requirements (FedRAMP, FISMA) Advanced Technical Skills: • Advanced Azure architecture and cloud-native application design • Experience with Azure automation and infrastructure as code (ARM templates, Terraform) • Understanding of Azure compliance and governance frameworks • Knowledge of hybrid cloud integration and Azure Arc management Job Type: Contract Pay: $42.00 - $48.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Education: • Bachelor's (Preferred) Experience: • Azure Apps Management : 4 years (Preferred) • Azure Security Implementations : 4 years (Preferred) • DevOps Integration : 4 years (Preferred) • Cloud Native services : 4 years (Preferred) License/Certification: • Azure Certification (Preferred) Security clearance: • Confidential (Preferred) Work Location: Remote
