Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst to join our retail CPG team. The ideal candidate will leverage Microsoft BI tools (Power BI, Excel, SQL Server, Azure) and Tableau to design, develop, and deliver analytics solutions that drive data-driven decision making. This role requires a strong understanding of retail and consumer packaged goods dynamics, financial reporting, and the ability to translate complex data into clear business insights. Key Responsibilities: • Data Analysis & Visualization • Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using Tableau and Microsoft Power BI. • Create interactive visualizations that highlight trends, opportunities, and performance across sales, finance, marketing, supply chain, and category management. • Develop standardized KPIs and metrics to support business and financial objectives. • Financial Reporting & Analysis • Develop, maintain, and automate financial reports including P&L, sales performance, margin analysis, and expense tracking. • Partner with finance teams to provide forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis support. • Ensure financial reporting aligns with corporate standards and supports strategic decision-making. • Data Management & Integration • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources (ERP, POS, syndicated data, CRM, financial systems, supply chain systems) into reporting environments. • Maintain and optimize data pipelines using SQL, Excel, and Microsoft Azure tools. • Ensure data quality, consistency, and accuracy across reporting platforms. • Business Insights & Strategy Support • Partner with stakeholders across sales, finance, supply chain, and marketing to understand reporting needs. • Provide actionable insights to improve category performance, pricing strategies, promotional effectiveness, and customer engagement. • Conduct ad-hoc analysis to answer urgent business and financial questions. • Collaboration & Communication • Translate business requirements into technical reporting solutions. • Present insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives. • Support data literacy initiatives within the organization to increase adoption of BI tools. Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred). • Experience: • 3+ years in business intelligence, data analytics, or financial reporting (preferably in retail or CPG). • Proven expertise with Microsoft BI stack (Power BI, Excel, SQL Server, Azure Data tools). • Proficiency in Tableau for dashboarding and data visualization. • Strong SQL skills for querying and optimizing large datasets. • Familiarity with syndicated retail data (Nielsen, IRI, SPINS) and ERP/financial systems is a plus. • Skills: • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. • Solid understanding of financial reporting principles (GAAP, variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting). • Excellent communication and presentation abilities. • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Knowledge of retail and CPG performance metrics (sell-through, trade promotions, category management).
