Base pay range $35.00/hr - $40.00/hr Associate Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) About the Role We are seeking an Associate Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) with a strong foundation in software development, automation testing, and site reliability engineering (SRE) practices. This role goes beyond traditional QA—you will be building, testing, and maintaining systems that power mission-critical applications for field workers. You’ll contribute to both code quality and system reliability, ensuring smooth operations at scale. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks for web and API testing using Cypress/Playwright. TypeScript, Node.js, and GraphQL. Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions). Define and execute test strategies, including regression, performance, and security testing. Collaborate with product and platform teams to define SLOs/SLIs and track system reliability. Participate in incident response, on-call rotations, and production troubleshooting. Implement automation to reduce manual effort (“toil”) and improve system health. Create dashboards and monitoring tools to track performance, availability, and reliability. Contribute to observability, logging, and incident resolution best practices. Work closely with developers, product managers, and platform engineers to deliver high-quality, reliable releases. Champion reliability as a product feature, embedding it across the development lifecycle. Document runbooks, testing practices, and operational playbooks. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical discipline (or equivalent experience). 1+ years of hands-on experience with software development, automation testing, or site reliability engineering. Experience building automated tests with Cypress/Playwright. Experience integrating automation into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions). Familiarity with SRE principles (monitoring, alerting, incident response, error budgets). Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in a technical field. Airline industry or large-scale production system experience. Familiarity with tools like Dynatrace, Mezmo (LogDNA), BigPanda, Nucleus. Experience with Azure Cloud and Kubernetes environments.
