Location: Columbia, IL – 5 days onsite per week Employment Type: Permanent / Direct Hire / Full-time Salary: Up to $100k Work Authorization: Only candidates who do not require sponsorship now or in the future will be considered Travel: Quarterly travel required to Kansas City The Role We are seeking an IT Administrator to join a growing organization and serve as the second member of the IT team. This is a hands-on role responsible for the administration, security, and maintenance of infrastructure across multiple locations. The position requires technical expertise in servers, networking, and cloud platforms (Azure), combined with the ability to support end users and ensure smooth day-to-day IT operations. This role is ideal for a self-starter who thrives in smaller teams, is comfortable being the primary IT administrator on staff, and wants to take ownership of standing up infrastructure in-house following a transition from a managed services provider. What You’ll Do • Administer, maintain, and secure Microsoft Azure environments, including Entra ID, Intune, Storage, and SQL. • Manage SQL Server administration for ERP applications, including backups and recovery plans. • Support implementation and ongoing administration of ERP systems hosted in Azure. • Configure and maintain virtual servers and desktops (VMware or Azure). • Provide fundamental networking support including troubleshooting of switches, routing, and firewalls. • Oversee Microsoft 365 administration, including Exchange, Teams, and SharePoint. • Serve as the first point of contact for IT support needs across ~120 users and multiple locations. • Develop and maintain IT documentation, including system procedures and inventories. • Collaborate with leadership on IT reorganization and long-term strategies to support business growth. • Provide excellent customer service, training, and technical support to end users. Required Experience • 3+ years of IT systems or network administration experience, preferably in multi-site or manufacturing environments. • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (Entra ID, Intune, Storage, SQL). • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware or Azure). • Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST preferred). • Fundamental networking experience (switching, routing, firewall troubleshooting). • Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint). • Strong communication skills and a hands-on, customer-service mindset. Preferred Experience • Experience with SQL Server administration (backups, disaster recovery). • Experience supporting ERP systems in Azure (Epicor or similar). • Exposure to IT strategy development and long-term infrastructure planning.
