This contract-to-hire opportunity will focus on building out the HR Data Domain within Databricks at Kroger. You ll lead technical modernization efforts, define architecture and design standards, and partner with cross-functional teams across time zones particularly coordinating offshore resources. The ideal candidate thrives in early-stage environments, is 70% hands-on, and brings depth in Python, Databricks architecture (bronze/silver/gold), Azure ecosystem, and enterprise API integration. HR/payroll data lake experience is a plus.<>Key Requirements: • <>Must live in Charlotte or Cincinnati No relocation or visa sponsorship • <>Databricks Certified is a plus not mandatory • <>3+ years in a Technical Lead role with design reviews and enterprise architecture • <>Deep hands-on Databricks experience including Azure SQL migration • <>Strong Python and API development within Databricks • <>Familiar with Terraform, CI/CD, encryption, and monitoring tools • <>Experience leading offshore teams and managing cross-team dependencies
