We are seeking a Senior SQL Server and Cloud Administrator with extensive experience in enterprise-scale financial environments. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for professionals local to NY/NJ who are eager to contribute to high-availability, mission-critical database systems within the investment banking or brokerage industry.Mandatory Requirements:Bachelor’s degree from a U.S.-accredited university10+ years of experience in IT services organizations8+ years of hands-on SQL DBA experience (production, implementation, project work)5+ years in Level 3 / SME support rolesPrior on-call support experience (minimum 5 years)5+ years of client-facing experience in global environmentsFamiliarity with ITIL support and service management processesStrong documentation skills using MS SharePoint 2010/2013Experience in an investment banking or brokerage environment is an absolute mustTechnical Qualifications:Deep knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (latest versions) in large, high-availability environmentsExpert in performance tuning (server and query level) using perfmon, DMVs, and extended eventsStrong understanding of SQL Server internals, partitioning, and data compressionHands-on experience with High Availability/DR solutions: Mirroring, Replication, and Always On Availability GroupsSkilled in T-SQL scripting, PowerShell, and/or Python for automationStrong knowledge of SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services)Proficient in:SQL Server ClusteringSSRS (Reporting Services)SSAS (Analysis Services)Familiar with SQL Server security and permissions modelMinimum 6 months of hands-on exposure to AWS Cloud RDSNice to Have:Exposure to MySQL and Linux environmentsExperience with Azure, Snowflake, or other modern cloud data platformsMicrosoft certifications on the latest versions of SQL Server (e.g., MCSE, MCSA)
