Data Architect Snowflake & SQL Server Focus Chicago, IL Hybrid schedule: 1-2 days onsite, 3-4 days remote Summary This position is responsible for architecting, implementing, and optimizing the data platforms. This position plays an integral role in the maintenance, support, and enhancements of custom and 3rd party, business critical applications, databases, and data integration processes. The role establishes architectural standards for SQL Server and Snowflake data warehouse environments and dependent data flows. This role shares operational support of data platforms with DBAs and provides subject matter expertise for data structure, storage, and movement to various projects. What you'll be doing • Direct and oversee the architecture and development of data systems to meet application and reporting requirements • Support highly-available relational database and cloud data warehouse technologies • Monitor database systems, optimize database query performance, and ensure data security and durability • Document, refine, and standardize data pipelines from core application to downstream systems to meet integration specifications • Maintain metadata repositories and data diagrams to meet data governance standards • Review and establish best practices and processes for database object creation, deployment, and change control • Ensure data systems are secure by design • Troubleshooting, fault analysis, and issue resolution • Implementation and maintenance of high availability and disaster recovery solutions such as SQL Server replication, AlwaysOn Availability Groups, and Log Shipping • Investigate and resolve reported application issues, escalating issues as necessary to application owners • Provide On-Call support on a rotating basis which requires the flexibility to work off hours Skills we're seeking • 7+ years of experience with Database/DW Engineering • 2+ years of experience with Database/DW Architecture • Must have strong SQL Server experience • Must have at least some Snowflake experience more the better Nice to have experience • Data architecture experience in Azure environments ideally hybrid cloud environments • Data governance and data security experience • Experience architecting or leading data transformation projects #J-18808-Ljbffr
