Position: Azure Cloud Lead System Administrator- 90933 Job Description: Syneren is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Azure Cloud Lead System Administrator to join our team. This is a pivotal role responsible for the administration, architecture, and management of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring our systems are secure, scalable, and resilient. Contractor will be required to be onsite no less than 3x per week, after full-time onsite for the first 90 days. Responsibilities: • Lead the IT Infrastructure team of Systems and Database Administrators. • Migration: Lead the efforts to prepare and migrate on-Prem VMware Windows environment to the Secured Azure Government Cloud. • Design and Management: Lead the design, implementation, and management of Azure cloud solutions, ensuring they meet the business needs and comply with industry standards. • Maintenance and Monitoring: Proactively manage, monitor, and maintain Azure infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance. • Automation and Optimization: Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and reduce manual intervention. • Security and Compliance: • Ensure all cloud solutions adhere to security policies, compliance requirements, and best practices. • Ensure all systems are up to date with patches and all vulnerabilities are remediated according to Agency policies. • Ensure all DOD STIG are reviewed, and new systems are properly hardened before deployment. • Troubleshooting and Support: Provide advanced troubleshooting and support for cloud infrastructure issues and serve as an escalation point for complex technical problems. • Collaboration: Work closely with IT, Dev Ops, and development teams to integrate and optimize solutions across different environments. • Reporting: Create routine and ad-hoc reports on the Azure infrastructure, system performance and security postures. • Stay up to date with the latest Azure technologies, trends, and best practices, and make recommendations for system enhancements or optimizations. Required Qualifications: • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Azure Government cloud administration. • Expert on DoD Patch Management and Vulnerability Remediation (Process and Tools). • Expertise in Azure services (e.g., VMs, Azure AD, networking, security groups, etc.), scripting (Power Shell, Azure CLI), and infrastructure as code (e.g., ARM templates, Terraform). • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate. • Candidate will need to be able to obtain a Secret Clearance. • IAT II Certifications IAW DoD (For DoD IAT Level 2, the two required certs are as follows: CompTIA Security+ or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner). Other security-related certs that are accepted (in addition to the above two certs) for the DoD IAT Level 2 include the following as well: CCNA Security; CySA+; GICSP; GSEC). • Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Preferred: • Experience with Azure Apps, Azure Functions and Azure Kubernetes Service. • Experience with Azure Dev Ops. • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert. • Bachelor’s degree or higher in an IT related field such as MIS, Computer Science.
