About Us: We are a leading provider of network security solutions, offering managed services and operational support for a diverse range of enterprise clients. Our Network Operations Center (NOC) team plays a critical role in ensuring the security, performance, and reliability of our customers' IT infrastructure. We are looking for a highly skilled Network Security Engineer to join our team. Position Summary: The Network Security Engineer is responsible for monitoring, managing, and maintaining the network and security of our customers. This includes real-time monitoring of security systems, responding to incidents, analyzing logs, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure security vulnerabilities are identified and mitigated. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network and firewall security. Key Responsibilities : • Monitor and manage network security alerts, events, and incidents within the NOC. • Perform proactive network and security monitoring to identify and mitigate potential risks or security breaches. • Collaborate with other teams (e.g., Network Operations, Systems Engineering, Incident Response) to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues. • Maintain and update network security policies, procedures, and documentation in accordance with best practices. • Assist in the development of security monitoring strategies and improvements to existing security tools and processes. • Generate reports on security incidents and perform root cause analysis. • Ensure that customer environments adhere to security standards and compliance requirements (e.g., PCI-DSS, HIPAA, GDPR). • Respond to customer inquiries and security-related incidents in a timely and professional manner. • Stay current with industry trends, emerging threats, and best practices in cybersecurity. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent work experience. • Proficiency in solutions from key industry vendors, including Cisco (Catalyst/Nexus switches, ASA and FTD), Palo Alto (firewalls, security appliances), and Meraki (wireless networking, security appliance). • 3+ years of experience in a network security engineering role. • Knowledge of network security technologies and best practices (e.g., firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, endpoint security). • Familiarity with security protocols, including RADIUS, TACACS+, 802.1X, and VPN technologies. • Solid understanding of networking concepts (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, LAN/WAN). • Experience with ticketing and monitoring systems, such as Freshworks and Logic Monitor. • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex security issues. • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to effectively interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) • Strong with network routing, switching and firewalls. • Familiarity with cloud security platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and hybrid network environments. • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automating tasks. • Able to pass a CJIS background check. Work Environment & Schedule: Network operations environment, most work is done remote but you will occasionally be required to travel to client sites in the Tampa/Sarasota region. Availability for on-call support, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
