Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Kforce Inc is seeking an SQL Server Database Administrator to join their team in Tampa, FL. The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the design and delivery of database technology to meet business needs, while ensuring the security and integrity of the database environment. Responsibilities • The SQL Server DBA will be responsible for the design and delivery of database technology to solve business needs. • The candidate will also maintain effective internal control of the database involving implementation, tuning, throughput, optimization, security and integrity of the environment. Skills • Experience level: 7 - 10 years • 7+ years of experience in MS SQL Azure environments, including Azure SQL PaaS • Extensive knowledge and experience in development and/or application-based troubleshooting in SQL server • Demonstrated experience in application support with industry knowledge of ITIL service management principles • Extensive technical understanding that spans multiple platforms and application level expertise of a portfolio of applications with broad knowledge of the business strategic priorities, in order to resolve complex problems • Required knowledge of PowerShell scripting • Strong background in SQL development, including writing and troubleshooting stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, and constraints • Expertise in analyzing SQL execution plans to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks • Hands-on experience with Performance Monitor, Extended Events, and other monitoring/troubleshooting tools • Skilled in query optimization, blocking and deadlock resolution, and diagnosing performance issues in critical scenarios • Proficient in troubleshooting database integrity, replication, log shipping, connectivity, and security issues • Strong understanding of Azure backup and restore processes (local and remote Azure SQL servers) • Familiarity with Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) in backup/restore operations and implementation • Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate • PostgreSQL experience a plus • Entra ID authentication • Azure SQL Server network security • Azure networking principles • Expert-level experience in operational automation for database administration Education Requirements • Familiarity with third-party DBA tools such as Toad, pgAdmin, DBeaver, dbForge, and Visual Studio Benefits • Medical/dental/vision insurance • HSA • FSA • 401(k) • Life, disability & ADD insurance Company Overview • Kforce is a solutions firm specializing in technology, finance and accounting, and professional staffing services.
