Overview CTG is seeking to fill a Data Engineer - Data Platforms - Azure opening for our client in Jersey City, NJ. Duration: 3 months Duties: • Design, develop, and maintain batch and real-time data pipelines using Azure services such as Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure DataBricks, and Event Hub. • Build and operate the data layer on Azure Synapse Analytics, SQL DW, and Cosmos DB. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement end-to-end data solutions on the Azure Cloud ecosystem. • Ensure data quality, governance, and security across Azure Data Platform components. • Integrate open-source tools such as Apache Airflow, dbt, Spark/Python, and Spark/Scala into data engineering workflows. • Provide technical guidance on AI/ML integrations, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation), prompt engineering, and model engineering. • Serve as a technical product owner for DataBRICKs and related Azure data solutions. Skills: • Expertise in Azure Data Platform components: ADLS2, Blob Storage, SQLDW, Synapse Analytics (Spark & SQL), Azure Functions with Python, Azure Purview, and Cosmos DB. • Strong experience with Azure Event Hub, Streaming Analytics, and Managed Streaming for Apache Kafka. • Proficiency in Azure DataBricks with Spark, as well as open-source data engineering tools like Apache Airflow and dbt. • Solid programming experience in Python or Scala for data engineering workflows. • Knowledge of AI/ML concepts, prompt engineering, model engineering, and RAG techniques. • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Experience: • 5+ years of experience in data engineering with a focus on Azure tools and platforms. • Proven experience as a technical product owner for Azure DataBricks, data pipelines, or cloud-based data solutions. • Hands-on experience with AI/ML integration into data engineering workflows is required. Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. • Relevant certifications in Azure Data Engineering or AI/ML technologies are a plus. The expected base salary for this position ranges from $50.00 to $120.00/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
