Position: System Administrator II Location: Knoxville, TN Employment Type: Direct hire FTE + full company benefits package Work Environment: Hybrid About the Role We are seeking a skilled System Administrator II to support and manage the backbone of our enterprise IT systems. This role is responsible for administering both on-premises and cloud-based server infrastructure and serving as a technical escalation point for our System Administrators. You'll play a critical role in supporting infrastructure services for the enterprise-level organization. Do to client requirements candidates must be US citizens and able to pass a drug/background and credit check to be considered for this position. Core Technical Skills Required: • Microsoft Azure (IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, Serverless) • Microsoft Server (various versions) • Microsoft Hyper-V • VMware ESXi • Microsoft Office 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, etc.) • Active Directory / Azure AD • DNS, DHCP, GPO, Certificates Preferred: • Experience with scripting and automation (PowerShell, etc.) • Familiarity with Dynamics 365 and cloud-to-cloud integrations • Exposure to Linux-based systems Ideal Candidate Profile • Strong foundation in system infrastructure and server administration • Hands-on experience managing hybrid environments (on-prem + cloud) • Collaborative and responsive approach to troubleshooting and support • Proactive about system performance, scalability, and documentation • Comfortable working cross-functionally with networking, security, and application teams Key Responsibilities • Administer and support Windows and Linux servers (physical and virtual), Microsoft Azure, VMware ESXi, and Hyper-V environments. • Manage Active Directory, Azure AD, DHCP, DNS, GPO, and certificate services. • Maintain and monitor Microsoft 365 services including Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Dynamics, and licensing. • Conduct routine monitoring to ensure integrity, availability, and performance of infrastructure and applications. • Implement and maintain backup, recovery, and data security protocols. • Install, configure, and manage new and existing servers and software based on operational needs. • Collaborate with IT Security to apply regular system and security updates. • Assist in the development and execution of disaster recovery procedures. • Create technical documentation and management reports related to performance, capacity, and system health. • Provide end-user and desktop support escalation, troubleshooting hardware/software issues. • Work closely with Network staff to ensure tight integration between server infrastructure and network systems. • Participate in off-hours on-call rotation and train backup staff for coverage needs. • Act as a liaison with external vendors and consultants.
