This hybrid role requires local candidates in California who can attend occasional in-person meetings in Oakland or San Ramon.The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing and securing Microsoft Windows systems, deploying patches, maintaining Active Directory infrastructure, and supporting virtualization platforms. This position requires both technical depth and strong collaboration skills to ensure reliable, secure, and high-performance system operations.Key Responsibilities: • Administer, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments (2019-2025). • Develop, run, and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation and system management. • Manage and troubleshoot SCCM deployments, patches, and system configurations. • Support system performance through use of analysis and monitoring tools. • Perform regular security patching, maintenance, and compliance updates. • Work closely with Project Managers and Application SMEs to validate system builds and deployments. • Collaborate with 3rd-party vendors to resolve system-level issues. • Implement and support in-place upgrades and environment migrations. • Ensure network reliability and security using TCP/IP, DNS, SMB, SSL/TLS protocols. • Participate in planning and deployment for departmental Windows OS projects. Required Experience: • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Windows Systems Administrator. • Experience supporting large-scale Microsoft Windows Server environments. • 2-4 years of experience with virtualization technologies. • Strong scripting and automation experience using PowerShell. • In-depth knowledge of Windows OS internals, registries, and permissions. Nice-to-Have Experience: • Exposure to AWS or Azure cloud environments. • Prior work with enterprise SCCM environments. • Familiarity with cybersecurity patching standards and compliance. • Experience collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.
