Windows/Systems Engineer- long term contract • US Citizens or GC Holders • on-site in NYC Position Overview The Windows Systems Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, and support of enterprise-level Windows infrastructure within a highly regulated global banking environment. This role requires strong expertise in Microsoft Windows Server technologies, Azure cloud services, automation via PowerShell scripting, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment. The engineer will collaborate closely with global technology teams, ensuring stability, scalability, compliance, and security of the bank’s infrastructure, while contributing to modernization initiatives and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities • Design, implement, and support Windows Server environments (on-premises and cloud-hosted). • Manage and optimize Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related core Windows services. • Deploy, configure, and administer Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including IaaS, PaaS, and hybrid solutions. • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell to streamline operational tasks, improve efficiency, and reduce risk. • Support patch management, system monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning. • Ensure system compliance with bank policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. • Collaborate with security teams to enforce access controls, implement hardening standards, and respond to vulnerabilities. • Provide Level 3 engineering support for incident, problem, and change management processes. • Document system designs, operational procedures, and technical standards. • Participate in global infrastructure projects, upgrades, and cloud adoption initiatives. Qualifications & Skills • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 5+ years’ experience in Windows Systems Engineering within enterprise environments, preferably financial services. • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (2016/2019/2022). • Proficiency with Microsoft Azure (compute, storage, networking, security, monitoring). • Expertise in PowerShell scripting for automation, configuration management, and reporting. • Experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V) and hybrid cloud integration. • Familiarity with enterprise monitoring and configuration tools (e.g., SCOM, SCCM, Intune). • Strong understanding of security, compliance, and regulatory requirements in banking or other highly regulated industries. • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills. • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a global, cross-functional team environment.
