This role includes developing design plans based on client programming, collaborating closely with sales teams, and helping elevate the design work to meet client expectations. The ideal candidate will be able to navigate complex design challenges, manage expectations and needs within the team, and foster an environment of growth and collaboration.Responsibilities Include:Manage and support the design team, ensuring that all designers follow consistent methodologies, documentation practices, and processes.Identify and develop talent within the team, ensuring designers of varying skill levels are assigned projects that match their capabilities.Provide mentorship and coaching to help elevate the design team’s skills and overall performance.Serve as the main point of contact for designers, assisting with their professional development and managing their workload.Coordinate training for the design team on internal processes, product training, and computer programs/tools.Design Process & CoordinationOversee the development of design plans based on client needs and expectations, ensuring creativity, functionality, and comprehensive specifications.Develop and refine design processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and quality.Collaborate with sales teams to ensure design objectives are aligned with client requirements, ensuring that the design team receives all necessary information for successful project execution.Monitor project timelines, milestones, and quality standards, ensuring that deadlines are met and the final output meets the company’s design standards.Project Management & Quality ControlManage the design queue, balancing the flow of work and ensuring that projects are prioritized and assigned to the appropriate designer.Ensure all design projects are executed with precision, addressing any discrepancies or challenges that arise.Ensure the quality and accuracy of design documents, from conceptual plans to final specifications, ensuring that all client requirements are met.Serve as the main point of contact between the design team, sales team, and senior leadership.Foster open communication and collaboration between cross-functional teams to ensure smooth project execution.Work with leadership to continuously improve design processes, procedures, and workflows.Internal Processes & Showroom MaintenanceHelp manage and maintain materials lab to ensure materials are up to date and easily accessible for the design team.Play an integral role in managing and maintaining the showroom’s aesthetic, appearance, and inventory, contributing to the showroom’s success but with a shared responsibility for its upkeep.Qualifications:5-7 years experience or proven experience in managing and mentoring design teams, preferably in an office dealership or commercial interior setting.Strong background in office interior design with an understanding of the unique challenges of the industry.Ability to manage multiple design projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage a team of varying skill levels and address diverse needs and personalities.Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with team members and clients.Proficiency in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite.Experience with client programming and developing comprehensive design plans that reflect client needs, expectations, and project requirements.Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.Understanding of design standards, product specifications, and the ability to create innovative, practical solutions for office spaces.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionDesign, Art/Creative, and Information TechnologyIndustriesRetail Office Equipment #J-18808-Ljbffr
