Job Description Power BI Consultant Location: 4 days a week onsite - San Diego, CA 92121 Duration: 3 - 6 month contract with possibility of extension Job Summary: We are looking for a seasoned Power BI Consultant with proven managerial experience, strong client engagement skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences. This role involves leading BI initiatives, managing junior analysts or developers, engaging with clients and stakeholders, and delivering business intelligence solutions that drive value across the organization. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable Power BI dashboards and reports. • Manage and mentor a team of BI developers or analysts, overseeing work quality and delivery timelines. • Act as the primary liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders; translate business needs into functional BI solutions. • Deliver presentations and training sessions to non-technical clients and executives to promote data literacy and BI tool adoption. • Guide clients through data strategy, dashboard storytelling, and performance optimization. • Conduct requirements gathering workshops and technical assessments with clients. • Implement data models and DAX calculations for reporting and analytics • Ensure data governance, accuracy, and security across BI solutions. • Stay current on Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and broader data analytics trends. Required Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience in BI/analytics with a strong focus on Power BI development. • Experience in a leadership or managerial role (team lead, project lead, or people management). • Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate with executive-level stakeholders and non-technical users. • Strong experience with DAX, Power Query (M), and data modeling. • Proficiency in managing client relationships, delivering workshops, and leading cross-functional teams. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Experience with SQL, Azure Data Services, Excel, and other common data platforms. • Snow Flake experience (nice to have)
