Senior VMware System Administrator (UNIX /Windows Environment)- HYBRID Chandra Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior System Administrator to work in Durham, NC in a hybrid environment. The role involves administration of UNIX/Windows systems, VMware environments, and UCS servers. Duties & Responsibilities Install, maintain, and upgrade internal computer software systems used for designing and developing company products. Control user access and passwords. Propose and implement system enhancements that improve reliability and performance. Monitor system usage and performance. Train personnel on system usage. Maintain the VMware-based environment and monitor the virtual server infrastructure health. Travel as needed to troubleshoot hardware issues in Raleigh and Charlotte data centers. Research, evaluate, and recommend software and hardware products. Provide new hardware specifications based on application needs and growth. Work as a team member in a fast?paced, 24/7 environment. Provide on?call support every other week and occasional weekend/holiday work. Manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Qualifications 8+ years of experience as a System Administrator. Experience managing VMware vCenter 6.7 or later. Experience managing Nagios. Hands?on support of UNIX/Windows environments including OS administration. Experience interacting with Security, Audit, DBA, Networking, Microsoft, and development groups. Experience with customer support in a time?critical environment. Analytical and methodical problem?solving approach. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Manage and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux on x86. Manage and maintain Windows servers. Manage and maintain SQL servers. Manage and maintain storage (Pure storage, VSAN). Demonstrated knowledge of Red Hat Linux on x86 platforms. Strong shell scripting abilities. Implement processes and procedures creating controls and standardization across large regions. Business awareness and focus on service delivery. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio). Desired Skills Linux/Windows server certifications. VMware vCenter experience. Managing UCS blade servers. Required Skills Experience as a System Administrator. Experience managing VMware vCenter 8.0 or later. Customer support experience in a time?critical environment. Hands?on support of UNIX and Windows Server/Desktop environments. Strong collaboration with Security, Audit, DBA, Networking, Microsoft, and development groups. Knowledge of Red Hat Linux on x86 platforms. Experience managing storage (Pure storage, VSAN, backups). Experience managing SQL and Windows servers.
