Company Description Deerpath Capital is a leading direct lending firm specializing in providing first lien, senior debt financing to middle market companies. Deerpath is focused on providing debt capital for acquisitions, refinancings, ownership transitions and growth capital to companies in the U.S. lower middle market. Deerpath has investment offices in New York, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and Fort Lauderdale, as well as overseas investor relations offices in London, Seoul, Tokyo and Brisbane. The firm employs approximately 100 employees globally. Position Overview As part of a growing firm in the asset management industry, the candidate will have a diverse set of responsibilities within the portfolio management area. Candidate must be able to work in a team friendly, deadline oriented, fast paced environment with minimal assistance. The candidate will report to the PR&A Director and work directly with the investment and operations teams to provide timely updates to borrowers financial reporting metrics, conduct financial statement spreading and analysis, and ongoing portfolio management and monitoring (including quarterly valuation reports) of portfolio companies. Primary Responsibilities Include • Spread and analyze company financial statements • With the guidance of senior team members engage with borrowers to understand financial performance and underwrite new credit exposure to existing platform accounts • Complete regularly scheduled risk reviews • Input various financial statement data into reporting data systems • Prepare quarterly valuations of each portfolio company • Maintain reports and schedules pertaining to portfolio companies • Monitor various ratios / covenants to determine the financial health of portfolio companies • Prepare analysis and materials for internal and external parties • Assist in ad hoc reporting and analytic projects • Portfolio coverage responsibilities of 20-25 accounts • Meet all internal/external deadlines Desired Skills & Experience • Bachelor’s degree required, a concentration in finance or economics preferred • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in commercial corporate lending, corporate credit ratings, corporate banking, direct/private lending and underwriting. Will NOT consider candidates without existing corporate credit analysis skills & background. • Strong knowledge & understanding of credit analysis, financial accounting, complex capital structures, high yield covenant packages and basic loan portfolio management and valuation • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills • Strong Excel/Microsoft Office skills NO RECRUITERS or AGENCIES for this posting.
