Position: Application Architect - .NET / Azure Job Summary You will be part of a team designing, automating, and deploying services on behalf of our customers to AWS in a way that allows these services to automatically heal themselves if things go south. We have deep experience applying cloud architecture techniques in virtually every industry. Every week is different and the problems you will be challenged to solve are constantly evolving. We build solutions using infrastructure-as-code so our customers can refine and reuse these processes again and again - all without having to come back to us for additional deployments. Key Responsibilities • Work as a technical leader alongside customer business, development, and infrastructure teams. • Lead technical and design discussions with IT executives to help enterprises speed their adoption of new technologies and practices. • Architect and build highly scalable, cloud-native applications on the AWS platform using core developer services such as: API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, Dynamo DB and ECS. • Leverage new technology paradigms (e.g., serverless, containers, microservices). • Migrate monolithic applications to microservices architectures. • Advise on implementing AWS best practices. • Influence infrastructure architecture by sharing your application development expertise. • Willingness to travel to client locations and deliver professional services. Required Qualifications • BS level technical degree. Additional experience may substitute for the degree. • 8+ years of software development or application engineering with recent coding experience in two or more modern programming languages such as: Java, JavaScript, C/C++, C#, Swift, Node.js, Python, Go, or Ruby • Hands-on recent development experience and capability. You will be expected to write and review code. • 5+ years of experience as a technical specialist in customer-facing roles. • Experience with Agile development methodologies. • Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD). Preferred Qualifications • Cloud Certifications • Demonstrated success as a software developer, application architect, product manager, CTO, or consultant working with various platforms. • Architecting, designing and developing applications on the AWS platform. • Designing and building applications using Container and serverless technologies. • Experience architecting highly available systems that utilize load balancing, horizontal scalability and high availability. • Good exposure to Agile software development and Dev Ops practices such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration and automated deployment. • Continuous Integration (CI) tools (e.g. Jenkins). • Experience with configuration management platforms (e.g. Chef, Puppet, Salt, or Ansible). • Strong practical application development experience on Linux and Windows-based systems. • Presenting at public events such as technology conferences, hackathons, blogging, writing on technical forums, etc. • Experience working directly with customers, partners or third-party developers. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $275,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
