The specialist will be responsible for supporting the city's digital transformation initiatives, ensuring high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery (DR) readiness for mission-critical applications. This role involves working closely with IT leadership, vendors, and project teams to plan, deploy, and optimize Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Software as a Service (SaaS), and hybrid cloud environments. Responsibilities: Plan, design, and implement scalable cloud infrastructure solutions (IaaS/SaaS/DR) across AWS, Azure, GCP, and IBM Cloud. Collaborate with stakeholders to assess infrastructure needs and recommend optimal cloud strategies. Develop and manage disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity solutions in the cloud. Oversee cloud migrations of on-premises workloads to public, private, or hybrid cloud environments. Monitor and optimize cloud performance, cost, and utilization. Implement and enforce cloud security best practices, compliance standards, and identity/access management. Create technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks. Provide support and troubleshooting for cloud infrastructure issues. Collaborate with application, networking, and security teams to ensure seamless integrations. Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and recommend adoption where applicable. Required Skills: 8 12 years of IT infrastructure experience, with at least 5+ years in cloud architecture/engineering. Strong expertise in AWS, Azure, GCP, and/or IBM Cloud (multi-cloud experience preferred). Hands-on experience with IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, and hybrid cloud solutions. Proven experience in Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, design, and implementation. Knowledge of cloud security frameworks, IAM, encryption, and compliance (FedRAMP, NIST, HIPAA, etc.). Familiarity with networking (VPC, VPN, firewalls, load balancers, DNS) in cloud environments. Experience with automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation. Proficiency in monitoring and cost optimization tools for cloud platforms. Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to manage incidents in multi-cloud setups. Excellent communication and documentation skills for stakeholder collaboration. Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator/Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, IBM Cloud Certification) highly desirable.
