This role is required to be onsite at the customer location in Herndon, VA 1 day a week. We're looking for a highly skilled Senior Cloud/Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain high-quality solutions that solve complex technical and business challenges. You'll collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, write and test code, manage integrations, and proactively address risks. What You'll Be Doing: • Collaborates with customers and partners to understand their business needs and the scenarios they aim to address. May lead or actively participate in meetings to gather and refine requirements, leveraging business, technical, and industry knowledge to define constraints and objectives. Engages relevant stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of customer goals. • Supports project planning by identifying risks, dependencies, and contributing to key documentation. Clearly communicates the business value of proposed solutions, with guidance as needed, and implements strategies to mitigate technical and business risks. Manages personal workload effectively and maintains regular communication with project leads. • Proactively identifies and addresses issues or risks, engaging with internal and external stakeholdersincluding project managersto ensure timely resolution. Writes and maintains integration and unit tests to ensure feature reliability and performance. • Applies product expertise to collaborate with stakeholders, driving project and release planning within the team. Takes ownership of writing, testing, and maintaining high-quality, scalable code. Resolves complex system integration challenges, often working across team boundaries to deliver cohesive solutions. Required Education, Experience, and Skills: Familiar with Cloud/Data technologies including but not limited to: • SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) • SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) • Azure Data Factory • Azure SQL Server • Azure Machine Learning • Azure Cognitive Search / Services • Azure Active Directory • PowerBI • ASP.NET MVC • Web API • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years of technical engineering OR 9 years of experience (experience in lieu of degree), in technical engineering • Must demonstrate exceptional communication, both written and verbal • Active or ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance is required • Ability to be onsite at client location in Herndon 1 day a week Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills: • Experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in SQL • UX/UI & Accessibility • Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL pipelines • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices for database deployments • Experience with Agile SDLC methodology (Scrum) Preferred Technical Certifications: • Azure (Networking, Infrastructure, App Dev, Identity, Active Directory, Azure Stack, etc.) • Business Applications (Dynamics 365, CRM, etc.) • Data & AI (SQL, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, PowerBI, etc.) • Technical certifications based on domain (e.g., Azure, SharePoint, SharePoint, CoPilot, Teams, etc.) Who We Are Dev Technology is a growing IT company with an employee-centric culture that works on mission-critical projects for the federal government.
