Job Title: Senior Systems Administrator Azure, M365 & Windows/Unix Location: Austin, Texas Duration: 12+ Months About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator with strong expertise in Azure/Entra ID, Microsoft 365 GCC, Windows Server, and Unix/Linux systems. This role will be responsible for supporting server infrastructure projects, focusing on OS/application builds, security hardening, configurations, automation, documentation, and troubleshooting. You will work closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and vendors in a collaborative environment, leveraging tools such as Microsoft Teams to deliver high-quality infrastructure support. Responsibilities Administer and support Windows Server and Unix/Linux environments (RedHat Linux, IBM AIX). Manage and configure Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), SharePoint Online, Power Platform, and Microsoft 365 GCC environments. Perform OS and application builds, patching, and remediation of security vulnerabilities. Automate administrative and operational processes using PowerShell scripting. Troubleshoot complex issues related to system software and operating systems. Create and maintain technical and end-user documentation. Support SharePoint Online site design, planning, and implementation. Participate in change management workflows, business processes, and cross-functional meetings. Develop usage reports and dashboards for system performance and analytics. Required Skills & Experience 8+ years Windows system administration (OS support, patching, security remediation). 5+ years Microsoft PowerShell scripting and automation. 5+ years Troubleshooting complex system/software issues. 5+ years Testing systems/applications for functional requirements. 4+ years SharePoint Online administration and configuration. 3+ years M365/Azure administration in a hybrid domain environment. 3+ years Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, PowerApps, Power BI). Strong communication and documentation skills. Preferred Skills Experience remediating security vulnerabilities on Windows servers. Writing technical and user documentation. SharePoint site design and use of 3rd-party SharePoint tools. Dashboard/report development. Experience in Texas State Data Center or Texas state agency IT environments. Microsoft 365 Government tenant administration.
